Senior AssessmentsEvaluating your time at Mizzou
Every semester we invite alumni and professionals to campus to visit with our graduating seniors about their education, the University, the School of Journalism and the strategic communication faculty and curriculum. All seniors are required to complete at least one 20-minute assessment with outside professionals.
During their senior assessment, students will have the opportunity to share their thoughts on their educational experience at Mizzou and to ask work-life questions. It also provides an opportunity to make contacts with professionals in the field. These meetings are not formal interviews, so dress is casual. Students who would like feedback on their work, their portfolio or their resume may bring it with them to the meeting. The assessors provide feedback on resumes and student experience and recommend ways to find the right job.
The schedule and availability of senior assessment meetings is updated on an ongoing basis as professionals confirm dates to visit campus. Regular emails are sent to seniors who are enrolled in a capstone course to alert them to upcoming senior assessment opportunities. Sign-up sheets for those assessments are posted in the Strategic Communication office, 140 Walter Williams Hall. The locations of the interviews are noted on each sign-up sheet.
